Status (4 June 2026): Law 7582 ("Bazı Kanunlarda Değişiklik Yapılmasına Dair Kanun") was passed by the TBMM on 21 May 2026 and published in the Resmi Gazete (Sayı 33270) on 4 June 2026 — in force the same day. Article 4 adds new mükerrer madde 20/D to Income Tax Law 193: a 20-year personal income-tax exemption on foreign-source income for new Turkish tax residents who were not Turkish tax-resident in the previous three calendar years. The exemption applies retroactively to anyone classified as Turkish resident from 1 January 2026 onward.
